Hungry Kids Can't Learn!
In addition to the filling and nutritious daily breakfasts that rural students at remote primary schools Koh Ker and Romchek receive, we also try to serve monthly all-you-can-eat lunches at each location.
To heal the trauma of food insecurity among children, it's vitally important that food flows regularly without interruption. They must trust that "food doesn't come and go, it comes and stays- we can count on it" - then their little brains can think about other things, like school!
These lunches provide an extra boost to students, who are encouraged to take home servings for their families as well.
Pre-Covid, these were facilitated by loads of visitors to Cambodia coming to take part; post-Covid, we are still not back to receiving enough regular visitors to reinstate this fully.
But don't worry, you can help from home! Last year this fundraiser accomplished all this and more. Let's do it again!
